Talkback ask me Back!!!

Hello all!

Great news, after my recent placement with TBT, they liked me enough to ask me back with a paid position!

I feel so lucky I am one of the few graduates to walk into work from my degree!

It's currently a weekly thing at the moment but it will be great for the future when pursuing work in the TV industry due to the wonderful contacts I have made this time round.

Propeller TV!!!

The night before last, I received a knock on my door from my flat mate, Mou and asked whether I'd shoot a speech for Alumni students in London.

So I said yes as I need the money! They really looked after me and I went to their base for 2.00pm, and spent the next few hours learning how to use this sweet sweet camera.

When we got there we went for a walk whilst on the walk the owner of Propeller (a 24 year old) decided he wanted a new camera, so he bought a canon 60d, just like that!

We shoot at City Hall where the views are sweet!

You can see their website here...

Jonny Elwyn the Legend!

My very (very very) good friend and freelance video editor has provided me with some work!

His laptop is in for repairs and mine is working, so due to tight deadlines and because he is awesome, he has sent some work my way.

I am currently digitizing (Importing tapes to Final Cut Pro (video editing software) to be turned into files) footage from a Tearfund trip, I think to Uganda.

Here is his website check it out, because he really is as  awesome as I am making him out to be!

Talkback Thames - Work Placement

Sorry it's been some time!

This week I have been working my socks off in the hope that i may get noticed in the Talkback Themes office.

I have been having the time of my life, in Amersham, right at the end of the met line in zone 9, working with the Escape to the Country team.

Thi actually is a really funny story. I know so many people who have tried for years to get into this place for work experience and I got called up out of the blue to come in for a meeting, nobody there had ever seen my CV before they offered the workplace meant to me.

TBT are famous for the shows, The Bill, X Factor, Green Wing, The IT Crowd, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, All Star Family Fortunes, The Price is Right, Grease is the Word, Grand Designs, Escape to the Country and SEX: How to do Everything. These are just their current shows, previous work include Bo' Selecta!, Da Ali G Show, Pop Idol and so so so many more, check them out here...

It's clear if they began their own channel they'd put both the BBC and ITC out of business!

So I am ringing up estate agents asking for JPEGs for the show! Small stuff but at least I'm in there! The post house has an amazing family feel with plenty of joy. To work here would be a dream.

On Wednesday, I went in and met Rebecca for he first time, she sat on my desk and before she said hello she asked

             'Do you shoot?'

I said 'yes!'

             'OK, you looking for work???'
'Yes'

'OK, Let me speak to Adrian, there's a job opening'

I got beyond excited, almost wet myself, excited. I have a meeting with the Series Editor, Adrian (who comes from about 4 miles away from my parents house, how awesome? lots to talk about) next week, I'm hoping for a job, and at least some temp work! It would be the best, I'm currently editing a showreel for him!

TBT has been super sweet!

My CV

Thanks to the awesome guys at dynamo I now have a spanking CV. Peter Bowles read through it countless times in emails backwards and forward to help create a CV that would be fitting for a freelance designer or editor.
Dynamo are a recently knew PR agency, who, even more recently picked up the contract for the Magic Wand, a TV remote, as seen on Dragons Den. The Magic Wand, picked up the most money that has ever been offered on Dragons Den. View the video here...
If you want to see the CV, send me an email on david.raymond.reed@gmail.com

Please Buy EP's

Thank you so much to you all for sharing the blog, it's really really going well, much better than we thought it would.

The amount of clicks/views has been awesome. Thank you all.

The best and most effective way of helping us is buying the EP's. We've sold a few but we really would like to sell 250+

If you want to help me and Chels, or if you just like the music, please buy one! Between us we have that many friends, if they each bought something, it would really really help.

Often we pass over things because we think someone else will help, we really need all our friends help with this, we'd really really appreciate it, if all our friends bought the music we've made together.

Writing, listening, playing music is something we love. It would be awesome in the future if we could say the thing we love (our music) was the thing that help us get started, not many people have that opportunity. Please help us getting started!
