Sorry it's been some time!
This week I have been working my socks off in the hope that i may get noticed in the Talkback Themes office.
I have been having the time of my life, in Amersham, right at the end of the met line in zone 9, working with the Escape to the Country team.
Thi actually is a really funny story. I know so many people who have tried for years to get into this place for work experience and I got called up out of the blue to come in for a meeting, nobody there had ever seen my CV before they offered the workplace meant to me.
TBT are famous for the shows, The Bill, X Factor, Green Wing, The IT Crowd, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, QI, All Star Family Fortunes, The Price is Right, Grease is the Word, Grand Designs, Escape to the Country and SEX: How to do Everything. These are just their current shows, previous work include Bo' Selecta!, Da Ali G Show, Pop Idol and so so so many more, check them out
here...
It's clear if they began their own channel they'd put both the BBC and ITC out of business!
So I am ringing up estate agents asking for JPEGs for the show! Small stuff but at least I'm in there! The post house has an amazing family feel with plenty of joy. To work here would be a dream.
On Wednesday, I went in and met Rebecca for he first time, she sat on my desk and before she said hello she asked
'Do you shoot?'
I said 'yes!'
'OK, you looking for work???'
'Yes'
'OK, Let me speak to Adrian, there's a job opening'
I got beyond excited, almost wet myself, excited. I have a meeting with the Series Editor, Adrian (who comes from about 4 miles away from my parents house, how awesome? lots to talk about) next week, I'm hoping for a job, and at least some temp work! It would be the best, I'm currently editing a showreel for him!
TBT has been super sweet!
